Welcome, let's start a conversation about learned resilience.
For the last twenty-two years, I have been dedicated to helping clients weather life's currents by building their adaptive capacity for resilience at home and at work. Mindful that smooth seas do not make skillful sailors, together we take on challenges to expand our comfort zones and deepen our knowledge through lifetime learning. Clients cultivate personal strategies to increase their adaptive capacity enabling them to deal with challenges - personal and professional. My clients are typically in transition - undergraduates juggling school and social demands, seniors and graduate students starting careers, professionals changing careers, or retirees moving into new adventures after careers. In organizations, I work with clients using a strategic focus on specific competencies to cultivate adaptive capacity. Mid-level and project managers are coached to step into leadership, prepared for uncertainty and rapid change. Middle-out knowledge, that unique perspective held by middle and project managers squeezed between senior management demands and employee expectations, is leveraged through reflective learning. These agile managers are then ready to lead innovation programs or organizational change initiatives by implementing systemic strategies inclusive of all levels of organizations for quality results. I apply a coach approach, as I have found it most effective in problem solving and decision making, for cultivating resilient individuals, teams, and organizations. For organizations seeking to adopt a coach approach as a management strategy, I facilitate workshops for supervisors and managers to learn the necessary competencies to implement it with confidence.
